Jennifer Velasquez serves as the president of the board at Mother’s Sanctuary, where she brings a wealth of knowledge and passion for supporting marginalized communities. Holding an Associate Degree in Human Services and a Bachelor of Social Work from Indiana University South Bend, Jennifer is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work (MSW). Her academic background and practical experience equip her to advocate effectively for individuals facing challenges, particularly within the Latino/a and Hispanic communities. Through her work at La Casa de Amistad, she has demonstrated a commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of those in need.
In addition to her work in social services, Jennifer is trained in restorative justice, a skill she successfully implemented during her internship at Safe Passage. Her experience working with at-promise youth reflects her dedication to guiding and supporting individuals through their personal journeys. As a board member at Mother’s Sanctuary, Jennifer embodies a compassionate and community-focused approach, ensuring that the organization remains dedicated to empowering mothers and fostering healthier family units.
